I’ve often thought that a legacy I would leave would be scientific discoveries or artistic creations. Tonight after talking to both my children – grown adults with families of their own, I realize my legacy, so far, has been the love of food and cooking.
My son lives in LA, daughter in NY and we discovered that this week we’ve eaten seasonally and much the same stuff. We all had raspberries in the last 24 hours, beet greens (my son’s recipe) and pesto. How likely is that?
AH PESTO – this was my kid’s favorite growing up and now its their kids’ favorite. And it was my recipe they started with, with some of their own fine tuning along the way. It makes me smile that pesto brings back fond memories of family for all of us, now 3 generations.
Sharing food and memories of special or everyday moments is certainly a legacy I am proud of. What’s your family legacy?
